VEDUTE Venice through the eyes of Canaletto

Canaletto Documentary

Venice was never depicted with more details and flamboyance than by the Italian painter Canaletto (1697-1768). The Villa Vauban Museum will highlight his work in the "Confrontations" exhibition, from July 2018 to March 2019. For this exhibition, we have created a documentary video about Venice in the 18th century through the eyes of Canaletto.

This ambitious video with a inspiring soundtrack by Julie Cooper, brings to life Canaletto's most famous paintings. It was entirely created "in house" using 2D/3D animation and compositing.

You can see the complete documentary at the Villa Vauban Museum from July 2018 to March 2019. Please visit for further information.
